Kristina Boroja

Studio Director

Kristina Boroja, Director of Adagio Dance, began her dance career at the age of 2 at a local dance studio in Michigan. By age 6, she began training competitively and quickly developed her love for dance.

While dancing competitively, Kristina was honored with summer dance program scholarships to travel across the country and train with renowned known dance companies such as; Tremaine, Dupree, 3rd street dance academy, and many more.

She later began teaching at an award-winning dance studio in Michigan, where her competitive companies received many high score honors. Kristina has received numerous choreography awards for her dance routines from various competition organizations.

After graduation, she was accepted to perform on Holland American Cruise lines for the Western European tour. Having such a passion for dance and learning, Kristina proceeded to dance at the Gus Giordano School of Dance in Chicago., Illinois on scholarship. She later choreographed for local dance teams such as Eisenhower HS, Stoney Creek HS, Dakota HS, and Michigan State University dance team. All teams placed in the top 10 throughout their season.

Kristina has been teaching for over 15 years, her love and dedication for the art will eventually transpire into what would make her truly happy… teaching and training students to become the best they can be in dance and life. She decided to open her own dance studio in Rochester Hills Mi in 2008, to inspire, educate, and instill the extraordinary possibilities of dance.  IT was at this time that  Adagio Dance Company was born.

As the director of Adagio Dance, Kristina’s team was recognized as the highest scoring advanced level dance studio in 2011 from “Hall of Fame Dance Challenge” at Walled Lake regional competition and has accumulated the highest amount of “FDC” points during a regional competition and has trained title-winning soloists that have received numerous “Judges Choice” & “Choreography” awards. Our competition team has been undefeated NATIONAL CHAMPIONS for the last 4 years. Kristina is extremely passionate as a teacher, mother, role-model, & business owner. She will continue to dedicate her time, share her love, & educate dancers.

Sloan Rousos

Assistant Director

Sloan Rousos, Assistant Studio Director of Adagio Dance, is truly a powerhouse for our company.  A dancer, instructor, and choreographer, she grew up in Commerce Township, MI.

Sloan started dancing recreationally at the age of 3 and then began dancing competitively by the age of 6. Her competitive dance career was at Dance House in West Bloomfield, MI, under the direction of Kim and Shayna Fink. From a very young age, Sloan was trained in multiple styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Through her years at Dance House, she had the privilege of training with many well-known choreographers. Some of these choreographers include Sonya Tayeh, Brooke Pierotti, Anthony Morigerato, Mark Meismer, Will Loftis, and others. Along with competitive dance, she was also on the Varsity Pom team at Walled Lake Northern High School.

Sloan started choreographing and teaching in high school at both the dance studio and for the pom team. After graduating from high school, she chose to continue her dance career on a collegiate level at Western Michigan University. At Western Michigan Sloan pursued a BA in dance and a Minor in holistic health. During her undergraduate years at WMU, she was trained by teachers and choreographers such as Monique Haley, Carolyn Pavlik, David Curwen, Sharon Garber, Jeremy Blair, and Whitney Moncrief. Through all four years of college, Sloan was a teacher and choreographer at West Michigan Dance Center located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Sloan also had the privilege of becoming the artistic director of a student-run organization called Hip Hop Connxion. After graduating from college, she moved back to Commerce and began working for Adagio Dance Company as a teacher and choreographer as well as traveling with Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, a competitive dance competition.

Amanda Kelly

Ballet and Rec Instructor

Amanda Kelly, Ballet and Rec Instructor, was born and raised in Rochester Hills and was a prior graduate from of our Adagio Studio and Competition team.

Amanda began dancing at 2 years old and was in competitive dance by 5. She has education and training in numerous dance forms, of which include but are not limited to: Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Heels/Ballroom, Gymnastics, and Tap.

While in Detroit, Amanda danced with well-known artists such as Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock, Jesse McCartney, and FloRida in NBA and NFL half-time performances.
Amanda has also audition and starred on Abby Lee’s Ultimate Dance Competition at the age of 12.

Amanda Graduated from Chapman University in Orange County, CA with a BFA in Dance and a Minor in Leadership Studies.  While in attendance at Chapman, she performed and choreographed numerous dance programs each year while also serving as President of the Chapman University Dance Team, leading a team of 19 dancers.

She later moved to Los Angeles working as a dance teacher for A Time for Dance Studio, as well as working at a Pure Barre Studio, along with dancing in ACE Awards in LA and many other dance festivals.

Amanda is now back in Michigan and has joined Adagio Dance to continue her love for Adagio and the dancers.  She currently teaches Ballet Class to our company and recreation members, as well as working alongside Sloan in teaching our recreational dance program.

Isaac Morgan

Tap Instructor

Isaac Morgan, tap Instructor for Adagio Dance, has been an integral part of the Metro Detroit dance community for now over 25 years.

After many years of training in Michigan, he went on to further his dance training at Oklahoma City University as a Dance Major. He studied under the direction of Jo Rowan, Susan Hebauch, and the late Robert L Reed to name a few.

Isaac continues to be recognized for his choreography and artistic visions in dance. He has been awarded choreograph awards from Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Tapology Tap Dance Festival of Flint Michigan, under the direction of Alfred Bruce Bradley, and Diane “Lady Di” Walker, as well as numerous dance competitions over the past 15 years. Isaac has toured with Holland America Cruise lines, Dance Olympus/Dance America dance competition, production of Duke Ellington’s “Sophisticated Ladies, and many more.

Brought up as a performer, he is never one to shy away from performance opportunities as well. He performed in One Harlem Night at Detroit’s Fisher Theater with Brian J. White, Darrien Henson, and Carl Payne. He has performed with the International Auto Show, the Super Bowl with Audi cars in San Francisco, Angela Burrow-Dunlaps “My Sweet Potato Pie with Sherman Hemsley, John Henton, and recording artist Ginuwine. He has performed with The James Tatum Foundation, many of T.J. Hemphill plays as the lead dancer, as well choreographing a piece for the father of Funk George Clinton with the Secret Society of Twisted Story Tellers under the directorship of Satoi Shakoor. He can be seen on your television with performances for Fox 2 News, as well as WDIV Channel 4 with their “Go 4 It” Campaign.

Isaac continues to inspire the young minds to challenge themselves and helps them build confidence through Dance.

Samantha Pitlock

Pom Program Coordinator & Instructor

Samantha Pitlock, Pom Program Coordinator and Instructor, was born and raised in Belleville, Michigan, where she started taking dance at the age of three.

 

She was a four-year member and one-year captain of her high school varsity dance team. During her time at Michigan State University, where she pursued her bachelor’s degree, Samantha shared her passion for dance as an instructor at two different studios in Lansing.

 

She cheered professionally in the NFL with the Detroit Lions from the years 2018-2022.

 

She has performed at various venues, including a sold out concert at Little Caesar’s Arena, with several Grammy-award winning artists and in many other televised appearances, locally and nationally.

Marie Gallaher

Marie Gallaher, Yoga Instructor and Program Coordinator for Adagio Dance, brings forth a unique blend of expertise in psychology, yoga, and a deep passion for balanced well-being.

With a solid foundation in the field of psychology, Marie brings a profound understanding of the mind-body connection to the world of yoga.

Marie is RYT 200 certified, and has honed her skills to empower individuals on their journey to inner balance and physical vitality. Marie meets students where they are in their practice, and encourages growth through personal empowerment.

Marie connects with students on a profound level. Through years of teaching and nurturing a strong following, Marie has created a nurturing and supportive yoga community where individuals of all levels can thrive.
