Sloan Rousos, Artistic Studio Director of Adagio Dance, is truly a powerhouse for our company.  A dancer, instructor, and choreographer, she grew up in Commerce Township, MI.

Sloan started dancing recreationally at the age of 3 and then began dancing competitively by the age of 6. Her competitive dance career was at Dance House in West Bloomfield, MI, under the direction of Kim and Shayna Fink. From a very young age, Sloan was trained in multiple styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Through her years at Dance House, she had the privilege of training with many well-known choreographers. Some of these choreographers include Sonya Tayeh, Brooke Pierotti, Anthony Morigerato, Mark Meismer, Will Loftis, and others. Along with competitive dance, she was also on the Varsity Pom team at Walled Lake Northern High School.

Sloan started choreographing and teaching in high school at both the dance studio and for the pom team. After graduating from high school, she chose to continue her dance career on a collegiate level at Western Michigan University. At Western Michigan Sloan pursued a BA in dance and a Minor in holistic health. During her undergraduate years at WMU, she was trained by teachers and choreographers such as Monique Haley, Carolyn Pavlik, David Curwen, Sharon Garber, Jeremy Blair, and Whitney Moncrief. Through all four years of college, Sloan was a teacher and choreographer at West Michigan Dance Center located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Sloan also had the privilege of becoming the artistic director of a student-run organization called Hip Hop Connxion. After graduating from college, she moved back to Commerce and began working for Adagio Dance Company as a teacher and choreographer as well as traveling with Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, a competitive dance competition.
